Time
Here are some questions to research about time. You can create a PowerPoint, a word document or write your answers in your book.
The prefix ‘oct’ usually stands for ‘eight’ as in octopus (eight arms) and octagon (eight sides). Why isn’t October the eighth month? What other months appear to have the wrong name?
Why do we have leap years?
Will 2100 be a leap year?
Some cultures use different calendars. What year is it in other calendars? Eg Chinese calendar
Where do the names for the months of the year come from?
Where do the names for the days of the week come from?
Why is it winter in England when it is summer in Australia?
What is the Western calendar (with January, February, etc) also called?
