Foam prints: Grade 3&4

This term grade 3/4 students have completed a unit on printmaking where they learnt about stamp and foam printing. For their foam prints, students began practice designs in their visual diaries. They started with a small circle in the middle of the page. They drew repeated shapes, lines and patterns around this circle until they were happy. Students looked at mandalas for inspiration and talked about the different types of patterns. It was a lot of fun! Check out some of the prints below.

 

 

Matisse inspired collage: Grade 5&6

Students in grade 5 & 6  have been learning about collage. They were inspired by the abstract collages of artist, Henri Matisse. The process began with students learning a range of paper skills and then they created a plan for a collage in their visual diaries. In their plans students considered how their artworks would show movement and balance. They were also required to consider the colour scheme they would use. Some of the final artworks are displayed below.
