Foundation-Week 2-Activity

Learning goal: I can draw a colourful line heart.

With lockdown 5.0 here for the next few days, I think we all need to show some love and kindness for each other and ourselves right now. That’s why I have included this fun love heart shaped activity.

Materials: any material you have and would like to use

  • 2 sheets of paper
  • Coloured pencils, markers, pencils, oil pastels- whatever you have!

Step 1: Using a black marker or pencil draw yourself a huge heart shape in the middle of the page. If you don’t want to draw a heart, you don’t have to! You can draw a square, rectangle, circle or any other shape that you like.

Step 2: Start to think about all the different types of LINE that you know. Straight lines, zig zag lines, squiggly lines, bumpy lines.

Step 3: Now, here is the fun part!! Fill your heart with as many different lines as you can.

Step 4: It’s time to colour your heart in. Fill your heart with all of your favourite colours. Keep the background blank so that your heart really stands out.

You can gift this heart artwork to a family member, to remind them how much you love them or you could keep it for yourself to remind yourself how fantastic you are.

I would love to see photos of your colourful line hearts. Feel free to send them to me on my email address: Christine.caminiti@education.vic.gov.au
