I hope you enjoy this picture story book about the artist Georgia O’Keeffe. It’s called My Name is Georgia By Jeanette Winter. This is not a video of me reading the story, but I have recorded my voice over the top of the YouTube video.

Discussion questions:

  • Georgia celebrated her differences. What did Georgia do that was so different to everyone else?
  • What do you do that is different to other people? How do you celebrate your own differences.
  • How did Georgia paint her flowers? Why did she paint them that way?

This week I decided to something different. Instead of read a story, I am discussing what it means to make mistakes in art. How do we feel when me make mistakes in art? How do we get the best out of our mistakes? What mindset do we need to learn from our mistakes?

  3. Hi Christine,

i do not have my book for arts so i am using the back of my genre book. i also do not have any lego, old jars or any toys (well i actually have 2 toys but that is not very many) but i do have some cups. The reason why i don’t have very many things is bcs i am at my beach-house and i am leaving very soon (in 18 days i think to be exact), i hope that is okay with u.
we had lots of things so my parents had to go home to take things back as we have been at my beach-house all the time we haven’t been at school.

    • Hi Liesel! Thanks for commenting on the blog.
You can use any objects that you have access too. Do you have a mug or a bowl? or you could even just draw your water bottle. Don’t worry if you don’t have many objects. Just use what you have available to you.

  4. I see lots of swirls and different lines. I think that it is very colourful and i wonder why there is a face in it.

    from Minthaka

  6. Hi Christine! When I perform in front of others it makes me feel crazy because im doing something great with my friends. I would like to work on focus and working as a team because sometimes I get distracted and I cant do anything. Lastly, I cant really remember a time where I had to be brave because I am brave and not scared of many things. Because I have not been on hardly any concerts except schools concerts.

    • Hi Jack!
Thanks for your fantastic comment. Team work is a really important skill to have in drama because we rely upon other actors so much! That’s something we can work on once we are back at school. I’m so happy to hear that you are brave.
