Year 3/4- Clay Pots

In term 2, students engaged in a clay modelling unit about the Hermannsburg Potters. These famous potters live and work in central Australia and make vibrant and colourful pots using their traditional technique which they have crafted for over 30 years. Their pots are created using hand made pottery and water colour paints. The subject matter reflects their lives, nature, community and Country.

Year 3/4 students discussed the artworks and ideas for their own meaningful pot designs. They made a plan in their visual arts books and then set about making the piece out of clay and later painting them using watercolour paint.
