Camp Reflection

Camp Reflection – Choose 1 activity in each row  to complete

Create a brochure to advertise Cape Bridgewater coastal camp.  Draw a map of the campsite and the activities you need to get to. Write a set of detailed instructions explaining how to complete one of the camp activities.
The school is about to cancel Year 5/6 Cape Bridgewater Camp. Write a persuasive letter to explain to the school council why they should continue this camp. Write a short descriptive piece of writing about one place you visited on camp. Write a diary about your camp experiences.
Write a camp review to post on a blog. Write a short “show not tell” descriptive piece that tells about an emotion or feeling you experienced on camp. Write a Thank you letter to someone about a camp experience.

Homework Week 9 Due Friday April the 1st

  1. This week you need to complete the HotMaths task that has been set for you. Please see your teacher early in the week if you are having any trouble accessing your HotMaths account so we can fix it.
  2. Our 100 word challenge this week is investigating feelings. In particular, I want to know about the angry you. The prompt is:

Things to think about:

  • What gets you cross?
  • How do you feel?
  • What do you do?
  • How do you move on?

3.  As well as 5 nights of reading we would also like you to write a short response for each night in your Homework Book (1-2 sentences) about your reading, this could be a question, a wondering, a connection or a prediction. This is NOT a summary of what you have read.

Camera (optional &child’s responsibility)

Reading material

1 fitted/bottom sheet
1 Sleeping Bag
1 Pillow
2 Towels

Socks (daily change)
Underwear (daily change)
T Shirts/skivvies (2/3)
Jeans/Trousers /Slacks) (2 pair)
Tracksuit
Shorts (2/3 pair)

Waterproof coat/parka
Beanie and sunhat (in daypack)

2 plastic bags for wet/dirty clothing.

2 Changes of shoes or runners.

Students will not require spending money during the trip, as there won’t be opportunities to purchase small souvenirs, postcards, etc

This week for homework:

  1. 100 Word Challenge prompt for this week is a list of 5 words that need to be included in your writing. Please make sure you PLAN your piece BEFORE writing, PROOF-READ and EDIT before publishing.  They words are:RED   LADDER   SINKING   COINS   PAVEMENT
  2. As well as 5 nights of reading we would also like you to write a short response for each night in your Homework Book (1-2 sentences) about your reading, this could be a question, a wondering, a connection or a prediction. This is to be written in your diary. This is NOT a summary of what you have read.
  3. Your maths task this week is a problem solving question. There will be a variety of answers across the class. We are more interested in how you worked it out than the actual answer. You need to record your thinking in your homework book. The question is:  Mum has given you a shopping list (milk, eggs, bread, cheese and orange juice) $10. Can you purchase everything on the list? What combinations could you buy?  Show all your working out. (Do not erase any of your mistakes – simply put a line through).
