Ciao studenti, parents and carers,

Benvenuti nel blog Italiano di MPPS! (Welcome to MPPS’s Italian blog!)

You will find your activities for Remote Learning 5.0 here. To the right of this post is a tab marked ‘Home Learning Activities By Year Level‘. You will need to click on your year level (Classe)  to access your Home Learning task for this week.

I will be opening my Webex room for each year level for you to stop by and say ‘ciao’. The timetable for Week 3 can be found below. The timetable for the whole week is shown, however should we return to onsite learning, classes for Thursday and Friday will be back onsite!

Check your webex class time and attend, so we can share our work, catch-up, clarify anything that you need, and have some Italian fun!

ACTIVITIES

  1. Find out what the Italian words are for the Olympic values. Use Google Translate to help you.

       The words are: Respect, Friendship, Courage, Inspiration, Excellence,  Equality,

        Determination.

  • Create a poster about the mascot and the Olympic values.
  • Include all of the Olympic value words in both Italian and English
  • Don’t forget to tell me what its name is. Use one of the following sentences.

        Ciao, Mi chiamo …….’ (Hi. My name is …….)

         Salve or Buongiorno. Sono …………. (Hello, I am…….)

 

  1. Create a new mascot for your class and pretend that you are

       participating in the games.

  • Make a poster about your new mascot.
  • First, give it a new name and use the sentences from activity 1 to introduce your mascot.
  • Next, your mascot must tell me what values it stands for. Use some or all of the values that I introduced you to. You may choose not to include the existing values and make up some new ones. Use Google Translate to help you. E.g. Collaboration – Collaborazione
  • Then, finish the sentence starter below.

      What does this sentence mean? Find out using Google Translate

       Finish the sentence off.

      Io rappresento …………………………………………………….. (Add the values)

 

  1. Create a new mascot for this year’s Olimpiadi.
  • First, make a fact file about it. Include the subheadings from my example below. You have learnt some of this language last term. You will need to use Google Translate for the language that is unfamiliar to you. You can use some or all of the Olympic values, or you can research your own using Google Translate.
  • Then, include a drawing of your new mascot and the flag of the country that you represent. Include Italian AND English as I have. See my example below and include labels for your drawings:

Make a poster about your new Mascot.

  • First, write the name of this year’s Olympic games    Gli Olimpiadi di Tokyo 2020    and  give your mascot a name.
  • Then, use the sentences below

         Ciao, salve  OR  Buongiorno

          Sono …………. ( I am…….)

          Mi chiamo ……. (My name is…..)

  • Draw the mascot and list all the Olympic values in Italian and English.

     Make a poster about your new mascot.

  • First, write the name of the games and give your mascot a new name and use the sentences from activity 2.
  • Then, finish the sentence starter below.

    • Your mascot must tell me what values it stands for. Use some or all of the values that I introduced you too
