Foundation Week 1 Term 4 Remote Learning 6.0
Before you start, don’t forget to talk to your parents or carers before completing this lesson to ensure it is safe.
First: Listen to Stef read out the instructions:
Learning goal: I can balance on different body parts
Balance is being able to control our body’s position, whether stationary or while moving. Can you think of different times in your day where you would need to balance?
Focus on:
- Keeping your eyes and head still
- Eyes focused on one spot in space
- Keeping your body still like a statue
Warm up: Musical Freeze
Equipment:
- Music-a device to play music (of you can get a family member to sing 😊)
How to play:
- Find some space you can move around
- Ask a family member to play some music from a device
- Using different locomotor skills-walking, running, skipping, hopping and jumping move around some space
- When the music stops-freeze and make a different shape with your body. Can you be a different animal each time the music freezes?
Next: Avoid the Sharks and Crocodiles
Aim of this game is to not step or let the sharks and crocodiles eat you!
Equipment:
- shoes and socks
- tea towel
How to play:
- set up socks and shoes around an open space
- take off your shoes-you can wear socks if you like
- you will choose which level you would like to start at
Level 1:
You are only allowed to step on the socks. Don’t touch the shoes that are the sharks and crocodiles
Level 2
You are only allowed to step on the socks, but this time when I call out a frog or flamingo you need to go into that position.
Level 3:
This time there are more sharks and crocodiles-socks and shoes!
Using your boat (tea towel), try and get through the sharks and crocodiles without touching the socks or shoes
Place you boat (tea towel) on the ground and think of a way you are going to get through to the other side safely without getting eaten.

- Draw up your own hopscotch
- Standing behind the number 1 square, toss your rock (socks) into the number 1 square.
- You must hop over the square containing your rock (sock)
- Hop on one foot into each square to the end of the board.
- If two squares are next to each other, use both feet.
