PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) and Project AWARE are committed to ‘exploring and protecting our ocean, shining a light on what’s possible,and leading communities towards a sustainable future.‘
In celebration of the ocean, they have organised AWARE Week (19th – 27th September 2020). This global event focuses on tackling the marine debris crisis, creating awareness for a plastic-free ocean, and empowering local communities to take positive actions for the protection of fragile aquatic environments.
Over the week they will explore a range of issues and solutions:
- Monday 21st September – Community Goal 1: Stand Up For The Ocean
- Tuesday 22nd September – Community Goal 2: Assume Responsibility
- Wednesday 23rd September – Community Goal 3: Dive With A Purpose
- Thursday 24th September – Community Goal 4: Reduce Our Carbon Footprint
- Friday 25th September – Community Goal 5 – Make Sustainable Choices
